The lone finalist from Arizona was a project in the Heavy Commercial category, submitted by Arizona ACI Chapter Members Beth Britt and Mike O’Brian from Southwest Wall Systems.  The project, Ironwood Hall in Chandler, AZ, utilized the Arxx ICF system to construct the 71,000 sq. ft. community college. ICF’s were utilized on 58,000 sq.ft. of exterior walls and 1,788 sq. ft. of interior and landscaping walls. The project included some very unique construction elements including cantilevered 2nd story ICF walls. In addition, some of the foam was removed from a portion of the exterior walls after the concrete cured, creating a unique architectural finish.
